At just 24 years of age, Umar Akmal, a wicketkeeper-batsman, has already accumulated more than 100 one-day international appearances. Younger brother to Kamran, Akmal entered the world of ODIs in August 2009 and quickly left his mark on the international stage by notching an unbeaten 102 in only his third match. He made his debut in Test cricket later the same year, and to date, has participated in 16 five-day matches, with his most recent appearance in September 2011.
Umar Akmal is no stranger to the ICC Cricket World Cup, having teamed up with his brother for the 2011 tournament. Throughout the competition, he amassed 240 runs at an average of 48.
