Following a modest stint with the England Development Squad in 2007 and an impressive outing with Kent two years later, Tammy Beaumont eventually made her international debut for England in a Women’s One Day International (WODI) against West Indies in late 2009. Aged 18, she also made her Women’s Twenty20 International (WT20I) debut in the same series. Over the decade that followed, the wicket-keeper batswoman progressed to become a permanent fixture in her side’s batting lineup, boasting an incredible record at World Cups.
In the 2016 ICC Women’s World Twenty20, her remarkable 138 runs in a group stage match against the Windies earned her the Player of the Match award, hinting at even greater achievements to come. When England triumphed in the 2017 Women’s World Cup, Tammy’s astounding tally of 410 runs played a pivotal role in securing England’s fourth title, and she was honored with the Player of the Tournament award.
Her maiden Women’s Twenty20 International (T20I) century arrived a year later, featuring an impressive innings of 116 from just 52 balls against South Africa at Taunton. As an opener, she has garnered a substantial fan base in the Big Bash as well, having represented both the Adelaide Strikers and the Melbourne Renegades.
