Shakera Selman has been a vital part of the Windies bowling unit for well over a decade now, ever since she marked her ODI debut against Ireland back in June 2008. Her introduction to T20I cricket happened in the same series. As a medium pacer, she began her ODI career impressively, capturing nine wickets in her initial four matches. The pinnacle of her ODI bowling performance was her maiden five-wicket haul, which she achieved in 2014 against New Zealand. Selman was a part of the Windies squad during the 2014 ICC Women’s World Twenty20, where she contributed significantly with three wickets. Her consistency carried into the 2018 edition of the tournament, where she managed to take wickets in every match she played.
