Leg-spinner Seekkuge Prasanna made a return to the Sri Lankan one-day international team in mid-2014, marking his comeback after a six-month absence. His impressive performances for Sri Lanka A served as the catalyst for this comeback. Prasanna’s cricketing journey began when he made his debut for the Sri Lanka army team at just 21 years of age. His remarkable skills soon caught the eye of the national selectors after his standout performances for Sri Lanka A during a 2011 tour of England. It was during this tour that he showcased his potential by taking a remarkable six-wicket haul. These achievements culminated in his selection for the Sri Lankan international ODI debut against Australia in 2011. Although Prasanna has had intermittent appearances in the ODI team, his impact in the longer format of the game has been relatively limited, having earned just one solitary Test cap back in 2011.
