Ryan Duffield, a skilled left-arm fast-bowler, made a memorable entry into first-class cricket for Western Australia back in 2010. On his debut, he showcased his talent by claiming three crucial wickets, including the dismissals of Aaron Finch and Andrew McDonald. Duffield left a strong mark in just his fourth Sheffield Shield match, amassing remarkable match figures of 9-141 against New South Wales, with eight of his wickets accounting for current or future Test players.
His performance in that season was remarkable, concluding with 33 Shield wickets at an impressive average of 10. In the Ryobi Cup, he continued to exhibit his prowess. However, his 2011-12 season was hindered by injuries, affecting his consistency.
Despite his efforts, Duffield found it challenging to break into the successful Perth Scorchers side. Subsequently, he secured a spot with the Brisbane Heat for the 2014-15 Big Bash League, seeking new opportunities in his cricketing journey.
