Morna Nielsen, ranked as the third-best female bowler in the world according to the ICC Twenty20 rankings, adds to the Stars’ international lineup with her promising skills. She’s a methodical and occasionally formidable spin bowler, having achieved success across various cricketing stages. Nielsen made her debut for the New Zealand national team in 2010 and has been a consistent presence in international matches, amassing over 70 appearances for the White Ferns.
With her left-arm orthodox spin, Nielsen has taken 36 wickets in Twenty20 Internationals, displaying exceptional strike rates and economy rates. Even when not representing New Zealand, she had an impressive domestic season in 2014-15, claiming 11 wickets with an economy rate of fewer than four runs per over.
Despite encountering some injuries, including finger and ankle issues, Nielsen joins the Stars with a clean bill of health and a strong determination to contribute effectively to the team.
