Michael Hill, the son of former Australia women’s representative Sharyn Hill, relocated to Tasmania at the commencement of the 2014-15 season after experiencing difficulty securing a spot in Victoria’s cricket team. Hill, a left-handed batsman, had previously captained Australia at the Under-19 World Cup in 2008. His inaugural first-class century occurred against the touring England side at the MCG in 2010. Despite this early achievement, Hill encountered challenges in building on that performance. He managed to score just one more first-class century for the Bushrangers and registered only one half-century in one-day cricket before deciding to embark on a new chapter with the Tigers.
