Kelly, originally hailing from Durban, South Africa, relocated to Perth at the tender age of four. While his journey in cricket took root, it wasn’t until the 2016-17 season that he secured a Western Australia rookie deal. However, it was the subsequent summer that truly marked his emergence when he made his debut for WA in the One-Day Cup. His impact was immediate, as he snared a wicket in his maiden game and then proceeded to dazzle with a superb 4-25 performance against Queensland in the following match.
His command over Queensland continued when, during the 2017-18 Sheffield Shield, he orchestrated a memorable five-wicket haul against them. Possessing an imposing stature at 193cm, this towering fast bowler proved pivotal for his club side, Claremont-Nedlands, guiding them to victory in the Premier Cricket T20 competition during the 2014-15 season.
