Matthew Cross, a wicketkeeper and opening batsman, marked his entry into the Scotland national team by earning a spot in the lineup for a List A match against Hampshire in May 2013. This debut paved the way for an eventful international cricket journey.
Cross’s elevation continued when he made his one-day international debut eight months later, during the ICC Cricket World Cup qualifying tournament held in New Zealand. It was in his second ODI appearance that he delivered one of his standout performances, notching up a well-fought half-century against Kenya. Impressively, Cross also showcased his skills behind the stumps, amassing 18 catches in his initial eight ODIs.
As he continues to evolve as a cricketer, Cross aspires to maintain his excellent form and contribute significantly to Scotland’s campaign in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015.
