Jason Behrendorff, originally from New South Wales and raised in Canberra, commenced his career with Western Australia in a one-day match in 2011, and remarkably, he took a wicket with his very first ball. His breakthrough season unfolded in 2013-14, where he concluded the summer as the second-highest wicket-taker in the Marsh Shield, claiming 40 wickets at an average of 22.70.
Behrendorff’s contributions were pivotal in the Scorchers winning the Big Bash League during the same season, amassing 11 wickets in 9 games. In only his second T20I appearance following his debut against India in 2017, he delivered an outstanding performance with figures of 4-21, dismissing renowned batsmen such as Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, and Manish Pandey. This remarkable feat earned him a place in Australia’s squad for the 2019 ODI World Cup.
