Dwaine Pretorious began his cricket journey by representing the South Africa Under-19 team in the 2008 Under-19 World Cup held in Malaysia. His dedication and exceptional performance were recognized when he was named the South African Cricketers’ Association’s MVP in 2015.
In early 2016, he had the opportunity to showcase his skills as part of the South Africa A squad during their tour to Australia. His consistent performance and hard work paid off when, in September 2016, he received a call-up to the South Africa ODI squad to face Ireland. This marked the beginning of his ODI career, which was soon followed by his debut in T20I cricket against England in 2017.
