About Cameron Bancroft

Cameron Bancroft, a right-handed wicketkeeper-batsman who once represented Australia in the Under-19 category, marked his entry into List-A cricket for Western Australia back in 2011. In 2013-14, Bancroft went on to make his debut in the first-class format. He showed his prowess as an opening batsman by participating in 11 matches, contributing significantly to Western Warriors’ journey to the Marsh Shield final. The call to don the white for Test cricket came knocking just before the 2017/18 Ashes series. Bancroft, in only his second Test innings at Brisbane, made a memorable unbeaten 82. His resolve and skill added to his reputation. He was also included in the Test squad for the 2019 tour of South Africa, where he battled against a formidable bowling attack, displaying his determination and talent. Unfortunately, Bancroft was embroiled in the sandpaper scandal during the Cape Town Test, which resulted in a nine-month suspension. However, after making his comeback, Bancroft swiftly reestablished himself as a contender for national selection. He was chosen for the 2019 Ashes series in the UK and partnered with David Warner as the opening batsman in the first two Tests.
