Hailing from the Sutherland Shire, Ben Dwarshuis has yet to unveil his full potential to NSW fans due to injuries that have interrupted his promising career since he secured a Rookie contract several years ago. Dwarshuis is a formidable lower-order batsman, known for his powerful hitting, and a skillful medium-fast bowler. Over the last three seasons, he has been a consistent presence for the Sydney Sixers in the KFC T20 Big Bash League. He is part of the cadre of young, aspiring NSW bowlers vying for positions in the starting XI.
In the latter part of the 2015-16 Sydney Grade season, Dwarshuis showcased his talents with some remarkable performances, hinting at his potential. His journey to the NSW Second XI, and possibly to first-class cricket, is well within reach if he can maintain his fitness and stay on the field. Dwarshuis earned a spot in the NSW Matador BBQs One-Day Cup squad for the 2016-17 season and even featured in the Blues’ competition opener. With his promising abilities, Dwarshuis remains a player to watch for in the world of Australian cricket.
