Aaliyah Alleyne came late to cricket, only taking up the sport at age 18. But she quickly made an impact, helping Barbados Women win the 2019 West Indies Cricket Board Twenty20 Blaze tournament. Later that year, Alleyne made her debut for the West Indies women’s team in both one-day and T20 international matches against India. She was also selected for the West Indies squad at the 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. Despite her late start, Alleyne demonstrated talent and commitment that swiftly earned her opportunities with Barbados and the West Indies.
